re: AdamHill's portfolio

You seem to know the essential functions of gimp which is a good thing. So basically now just do lots of tutorials and experiment.

Created using MyLifeIsRandom's smudge tut:

I really messed up the right side of it IMO, but w/e.

re: AdamHill's portfolio

Me experimenting using Mettaur_15's tut on adding color to stocks:

Yeah, it's dark, I know.

Edit: I'm going to try a recolor of this so Assassin's face stands out more. Will edit it into this post when it's done.

That was quick.

re: AdamHill's portfolio

Have seen some improvement already. Just keep doing them tutorials. Also, try to make your focal stand out more (ie: usually the persons/subjects face)

re: AdamHill's portfolio

The next pic, tbh, is kinda rushed. I was doing a tut, and I messed it up, so I went off into doing something diffrent, so here it is (you can tell where I rushed):

re: AdamHill's portfolio

well if you still have it saved as an .xcf, i suggest that you bring up the stock so you can't see the background behind it, putting text somewhere along the corners, and maybe adding a border. Those are all things that i think you know how to do, and that would improve the signature drastically.

If you can't resume fixing the signature, use this information when you make another banner. You are improving without doubt, just at a slower pace.

Keep it up, and just don't give up and you'll be as good as you want to be.

re: AdamHill's portfolio

Actually, the stock was on the top layer. I was cutting out the background, and it suddenly appeared with a level of transparency. I think it was at full opacity, too.

First, don't worry about double posting, especially if it's posting a new work. And second, you don't have to link it, since it's pretty small. It's not going to stretch the page, trust me.

You should definitely try more stuff like this. It's pretty good for a beginner.

re: AdamHill's portfolio

A bg I made for banners, which was inspired by my Taki banner. I might use it in later banners.

Edit: Looks like I did use it.

Bad cut was bad.

re: AdamHill's portfolio *four new banners*

I like the newest one. Colors blend very well.
