re: Info Thread

Okay, this information has nothing to do with this game. It's about Mobile Suit Gundam: Sensitachi no Kiseki.Keep in mind that this news is old.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Senshitachi no Kiseki

November 10, 2003 - PS2 isn't the only system receiving a special Gundam-themed package. Bandai first announced plans for a specially designed GameCube designed in celebration of the company's flagship series back at the Tokyo Game Show. While not as shiny as the gold colored PS2 Gundam system, the red color and logo should make anyone want this sucka.

Set for Japanese exclusive release on 11/27 for the price of 21000 yen, we're sure the system will sell out quickly, despite the GameCube's first Gundam game not being due out until some time next year.
The pictures on the media page of the box and system come from Amazon.com's Japanese website.

Here's some pics:

re: Info Thread

The GameCube title, Kidou Senshi Gundam: Senshi tachi no kiseki, will be based on the original Gundam and its one-year war story, which kicked off the epic series. The title of the game translates to English as Gundam: Tracks of the Heroes.

Kidou Senshi Gundam: Senshi tachi no kiseki plays as a 3D action shooter, where the gamer plays as one of the pilots and controls a mech to battle through various operations using a number of weapons via numerous actions. Each of the pilots, including the main character Amuro and his famous rival Char, have different abilities. In completing the battle missions, gamers will need to set up strategies by looking at the appropriate field map, checking out the enemy's data, and ordering partners to follow specific in-game strategies. Mechs from the original Gundam, such as RX-78-2 Gundam and MS-06 Zaku II, are confirmed to be in the game.

Kidou Senshi Gundam: Senshi tachi no kiseki is 50 percent complete, and is scheduled for release next year in Japan. In commemoration of the game's release, a special GameCube bundle that reflects Char's trademark red color will be released later this year in anticipation of the game.

The limited-edition package, to be released November 27, will sell for 21,000 yen ($190) and will include the red-colored GameCube console, a red GameBoy player, a red Zaku II action figure, and a special demo disk of the upcoming Gundam game.

re: Info Thread

Wow. It looks like all ends on that game, are clipped and strengthened just right. Looks like it even beats the hell out of Lost War Chronicles! It just sucks that you'll have to use that godawful gamecube control to play it. Then again, there are ways to work around that.

From here, it looks like they took a few ZF models (gundam etc), and made an action game out of them, while keeping some of that tactical goodness. Still looks more like it's leaning on action that tactics, but awesome none the less.

re: Info Thread

in purely visual terms, it looks very ZF. come on, the missions briefing screen and maps look life something straight out of the game. more over, the zakus look very much like ZF zakus. i'm putting this at the top of my import list by a huge margin.

re: Info Thread

Hopefully it will be an even balance of both action and tactics and hopefully the gamecube will deliver on gameplay. It looks like mobile suit madness . If someone gets this game imported please post some reviews / previews on it at my website if you want. MECHGAMER.COM <-(Shameless Plug)
If I find anything else I will keep you guys updated.

re: Info Thread

Yeah I guess, but LWC also has those breifings and stuff, showing where you should enter from a stage, who to kill, and how to handle your retreat, or enemy threat. It's pretty much useless, since you automatically enter the stage from a predetermined point, and have to simply kill all enemies or protect a target.

Though since it is the gamecube, which has more memory than the ps2, they could afford to use the ZF models instead, and put them in an action game. Since its the debute game on the GC, I bet it's more like an action game that tactical strat' game like ZF, simply because the arcade style appeals to more people, and Bandai, if they have somehow gotten smarter, will want to use that to get their foot in the door.

re: Info Thread

true, "action" isn't bad, but all to often it means arcade. i don't and never have considered ZF a strategy game, a near-sim, yes. there is strategy in ZF, but it's largely optional. i consider it more of a "tatics" orientated game, and i find zeonic battle tactics to be terribly entertaning.

and you gotta admit the MS do look good.

re: Info Thread

So they finally made a gundam game engine that incorporates Land and Space battles, as well as tactical variety and weapon selection. And it isn't made by Capcom.

MMmmmmm... tastes like goodness.

Hopefully the PS2 may get this. (i doubt it)

Also looks like it's running on a revamped version of the EIS game engine.

re: Info Thread

I used babelfish to translate the main site, and it says this in one paragraph:

"the preemptive attack which perceives the attack of the enemy"

This sounds like being able to see what the enemy is going to do. I wish there were some shots, but how do you think it will work?
