Stellar event prevention

Is there any way to stop a stellar event from occuring? Esp.the "Plastma instability -star is going to destroy itself in 3 years" (n which case all the planes go too), and "Graviation anomality -planet is going to disintrgrate in 1 year" type events?
Or is the best thing to do simply to ship out as many people as possible and accept the system/planet as lost?

re: Stellar event prevention

I'm pretty sure the only way is to evacuate the system. Ringworlds and Sphereworlds are supposed to "stabilize" a star, whatever that means, but I can't imagine building one before the star explodes.
