In-Love with EARTH 2050 (Or Whatever that Number Was)

OK, OK, OK so I didn't remember that 90210 number sequence either until I visited Beverly Hills way back when. But I know that it started with a 2... The game, Earth 2*** or (whatever that number is) is a great game. Great can't even describe it! It is the Michael Jordan, the Wayne Gretzgy, the Jenna Jameson of Strategy War Games. I must admit that I haven't played the game yet, but from all the reviews, the game's got game. First of all, no other strategy games is as deep as this one in terms of plot. Earth 2*** has major Die-Hard 3 talent because you have to manage not only defending against your enemies, but you have to get enough money to escape to Mars! For those who don't know, the planet Earth is heading towards its destruction to the Sun and you have to get your butt out of there. The problem is that two other factions (of different qualities) are wanting to get their butts out of their too! I love the way the game changes seasons, from foggy-drenched-in-rain fall, to sunny spring-summer. to snowy winter. As the game progresses, the Earth (of course) goes closer and closer to the sun, so during winter, where it snows (if you didn't know that), the snow will melt away. Is that awesome or what? Not only that, but the three different factions, much like in Starcraft, have three different factions with three totally different qualities and much more innovative and interesting than the Zergs, Terrans and Protis of Starcraft. This game is GREAT!

It has really good reviews. Unfortunately, if you are new to strategy games, this game is not one of the easiest to learn. If you do get into it however, gameplay should be pretty good.

first, the name is Earth 2150.
second, you have to play it to know (i got it, still haven't opened the box, let me finish VTMR first)
third, i think the plot is quite lacking, "get tons of money and you won" too much simplistic for such a complicated strategy game.

re: In-Love with EARTH 2050 (Or Whatever that Number Was)

i played the game for some time and it tends to get repititive, create a base, kill all nearby enemies, get some resources, lather, rinse, repeat.
you might say all RTSs are like that, maybe but the battle part here is also identical, there is no tactic part to it (oh, i forgot, you can build a tunnel), you just get tons of units and attack keeping some reserve, i think i'll play some 10-15 missions (total of what i'll play with all sides), advance some more in V:tM-R (it also gotten quite boring, it's just a dungeon crawl with pretty graphics, no challenge to it, just click the enemies, i'm tempted to use cheats, i'll probably do 'cause i want to see the plot unfolds but i don't feel like doing all of that clicking, NOX was also (kind of) a dungeon crawl, but i played half-way through it (i'll tell you why only half some other time) without cheats because it was diverse and FUN, V:tM-R is not fun, i'm gonna pick up PS:T, now that's fun!)

have u tried going to properties and running it with a a windows 2000 option, thats how i got a bunch of older games to work. Thought, 2150 should work because it dosnt run on windows 95 limited colouring. It looked like it ran ont 16 or even 32 bit.
