troll stage

HELP!!! I am stuck! I have defeated the troll, gained the diffindo spell but can't get any further! I keep running around, eating chocolate frogs and getting no where. How do I cut the ladder down and get the midget trolls and get through this stage? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
