[SRS] Custom Cores & Criticism

Most of you already know the drill by now. For those who don't, this is a thread for players to post their custom AC designs and recieve feedback on them. Nexus has thrown the design dynamics for Armored Core into a tailspin... I'm sure we're all a little lost and looking for some advice.

The format for posting cores will be as follows... pay attention everyone, 'cause this is a little different. I've added in extra format decals so that you can just copy this forumla and paste it right into your post to save time.

In the "tuning" section, simply state which aspect of the part you tuned and to what percentage. I have a feeling that the vast majority of people are going to be pushing one aspect to 100% rather than spreading it around. We'll see how this format works and adjust it accordingly.

Comments:

Evisceration has worked very well for me so far. The design's primary punch lies in its masses of micro-missles that it can dish out at a time. Anti-missle extensions will be all but worthless since they will only neutralize the first couple of micro missle volleys, and you've got 10 good shots of em. The right arm grenade launcher packs good firepower and decent ammo without being too weighty, and serves well as a secondary weapon. The solid shield's primary purpose isn't even necessarily the added defense (which is always welcome), but more importantly the heat insultation that it offers. In the case of many arena opponents (i.e. 4 person free for all), it will likely be necessary to fall back on the hangar units, which I include as "just in cases", especially the former halberd. The design has good Vs. ECM so there should be no worry about anyone carrying those inside parts around, and it has a good cooling rating. It's mobile enough for its weight class, and frankly I think I do a better job of dodging without having to press circle all the time to fire a left arm weapon anyways. The energy is by no means sufficient for sustained flight, and nor is it intended to; my style of combat has always incorporated shot boost hops in order to maintain speed without losing my energy gauge. Overall, Evisceration is fun to play and can really pack a big punch for a mid-weight without getting bogged down in an endless supply of different weapons.


Comments or suggestions? Please feel free to offer feedback and what you thought of it.(And before you mention it, yes I know the head choice is a bit dubious, but it's more of a personal choice since I loved that head in the original PS series)

Reason why I'm not rating AC's, is because I haven't quite grasped what is "good" and what is "bad". I have some tinkering around to do, before I can criticise anyones AC.

damn damn damn, I am to busy trying to beat the revalution disk to try and make a good AC. And the revelution disk is hard. Any way I haven't beat nearly as much of the game then I would have liked to by now so once I get alittle farther I will post up a core or two and give some feedback.

Summary: This is the core that got me through the latter two thirds of the game. It's the exact opposite of my usual style, which is probably what I like best about it. I found the best way to survive in Nexus is to stay the hell out of trouble, which is why this core is equipped almost exclusively with long range weapons. The twin sniper rifles can punch through most mission opponents, and the massive missle salvos are good for any larger targets. Should you be forced into a corner, the hangar units can provide adequate close range support.

In the end the core is nothing special and I am sure I'll be posting far stronger ACs in the near future. But it is a solid core none-the-less, so I decided to post it.

Shinobi
Before you say anything, the original version of it was much faster and used dual handguns at extreme close range. The way it got in close and slaughtered people reminded me of Shinobi.

Piloting this AC is simple. Get in close and unload the chain guns with your EO or go to mid range and launch off missile volleys. The RAGORA's immense forced cooling makes overheating an inconvenience at worst.

It also weighs the same as the legs carry, which is just cool.

I would reccomend finding some way to change the legs to COUGAR2 tuned for max weight. You'll lose a bit of defense and such, but their reduced weight(and thus increased speed) and energy drain are worth it.

That really is...odd. The difference in weight is nearly 300. I suppose FROM must have changed the weight/speed calculation a bit. Damn them.

I know in SL that 300 weight could make the difference between 390 and 410. For example going from SNSK to ORDER.

There is still the problem of your leg's rather hefty stationary drain, though.
