Dual Analog vs. Oldschool

I know a lot of people wanted this, but honestly I just can't use it. I tried, I really did, but it degraded me right down to a basic level. I was as bad as I was when I first started playing AC... worse even, because at least then I didn't have any preconceived notions of what I should have been doing.

Is anyone actually trying to go through the game with the new controls and if so, how are you finding them? I should probably also point out that I've never played a dual analog game before, so I have no previously established skill with that kind of control setup.

I hate the new controls, I am pretty much the same as JG. The old controls I am to used to to make the switch.

As I'm so obviously a traditionalist, I've stuck with the d-pad controls. I may try the new controls eventually, but I know that they'll require a hell of a lot of effort to get used to. And I've been doing fine with the d-pad so I doubt I'm really missing anything.

You guys still use the D-pad? I haven't touched that since AC2... I guess I use a hybrid system... the old school controls, but with the analog stick for movement. That's how I learned, so that's what I'll use.

Yeah you forget JG, a lot of use started out playing the original Playstation Armored Core where all you had was the D-pad. We learned useing the buttons, you learned useing the analog stick, long as we know how to work the thing it shouldnt matter should it?

I like to use the analog stick to move but I like the oldschool controls
It's akward trying to fire the right and left weapons, but its easier to do that than learr a new system

Its not worth it. Duel anolog is handy in some ways but the old is just as good if you ask me. There is no real point in switching, besides playing to much Halo and not being able to play any none dual anolog games.

I just unwrapped the game today. I played AC and ACPP on the PS1. D-PAD Baby! I finished AC2, AC2AA, AC3 and AC3SL and I still haven't started using the the A-sticks even though I use them for other games. I gotta say for ACN I really suck with the A-sticks, but, having said that, I also think the Type A has incredible potential for control, target acquisition, and multiweapon use. Right now, with the A-sticks, my AC runs around the screen, crashing into things, running into bullets, like I'm having a seisure right there in the cockpit.

I'm going to try to finish the game in Type A even though it makes me feel like screaming.
