First impressions

i jsut got topspin (and live) and i looooove it on live its coolio oolio ( my gamre tag is "Yellow Llama" if you want a game anyways this is good, loads of arenas and everything and good gameplay, nearly as solid as virtua tennis 2 at first play

I love this game, and would even go as far to say as it is as good as Halo! The career mode is brilliant with lots for you to do, and the matches are great. It even beats Virtua Tennis IMO. This is sure to have a sequel.

Got the game a few days ago and not stopped playing it since. Very impressed but not sure it outshines VT yet.
I found the earlier part of career mode very easy but it gets tougher, too tough perhaps and might put a lot of casual gamers off.
The top seeds are really hard to beat but if you look at their skills you might see a weak link, like if he has got only two stars for backhand keep hitting the ball there.
I've managed to do a grandslam in Australia but i reckon i touched lucky and i am at No 2 at the moment.
The only gripe i have at the moment are the loading times and the fact it is to easy in the beginning and to hard at the end, but hey!, thats the challenge.
Overall a great game and i am sure part 2 will be better.

Tell me about it!. The serve traing has got me beat i have left it on two stars but have given my player the skills off ace and return serve to compensate.
I just think the graphics where better on VT. I love the zoom view ans always use it, it's similar to the behind the wheel view in racing games, if you can master it the your on to a winner.

Oops my mistake there are chair umps I just never really noticed them. Playground courts might not have them I'm not sure.

You can't argue with the umps though I haven't been able to yet, I guess theres an animation where you hit the racket on the net and are about to argue or you give a look like I don't know about that call, but I would've liked to see some outright arguing or more of it. Maybe if you give your character a more mean demeaner in create mode, by placing the mouth in a frown you'll get some more grumpy animations but I doubt it.

I'm having fun now playing with my female character. I still kinda have gripes with the AI and 3 games a set like mentioned earlier. I've lost my 2nd game now with my male character in around 40 games. It almost seemed impossible for me to win, but I might've been able to pull it out. Either the game is too easy or the AI almost seems so tough that it seems to be cheating and almost unbeatable in some games.

Yup thecing the mouth in a frown you'll get some more grumpy animations but I doubt it.

Yup the AI seems too easy or not well enough programmed, I often win two matches in a tournament 3-0s or 3-1s, and then one match a tournament the AI seems a little tougher and the game might go into a tie break or I'll still win 3-1. Like I said in around 40 matches played with my male character I've lost just two matches. I guess its alright steamrolling through matches and trying stuff, but it can get a little dull, I would've liked it better if the AI was better and balanced better.

it would be a neat element . . . you could roid up and hope they don't pop a test on you . . . but I think all the conservatives would get their panties in a bunch
