I just beat the game yesterday. I was just wonderin if any1 else did?

beat it as in beating everything and obtaning the 335 arrow or just beating campaing mode?

Beat it at friends house last week. Was sorely dissapointed with game, but played through it anyway.

Damn you Lucasarts! Can't youses make anything with gameplay and objectives that are different from a game, making it diverse from a starfighter clone?! Rargh I say, raaargh!

Though that multiplayer ballturret mission was a bit fun. ^^

most who don't like it dislike it because they compare it to a flight sims like ace combat 3. it's an arcade/action game that almost passes for a really crappy sim. it's a double edged sword really. on one hand you have a great action game, on the other you can't help but wonder why it wasn't made into a sim in the first place.

this game is highly underrated.

That's not why I like it though. The gameplay seems half ass to me. I didn't like Star Wars: Starfighter too much, because of the story. That was horrible. The gameplay was 'okay' and I did have fun with it, as it was the second game I ever owned for the PS2 (first was Zone of the Enders). What I don't like about SWON is the gameplay itself. Graphics I don't mind, as the PS2 really comes out on the bottom every time, so it's expected. But the gameplay...rargh.

Me and my little bro, who also loves military weapons and gundam, turned it on first time, and began the multiplayer mode. We 'arghed' at the staleness. Slow moving planes, tracing bullets, being unable to 'outfly' enemies unless you pretty much yank the stick in a bunch of directions and slow down (and then enemies 'crash' into you without blowing up either of you).

I was also dissapointed because the gameplay reflected a few things the starfighter series did. Protecting 'so and so' target, while intercepting 'so and so' target. With the radar and lock system provided, and the speed of the craft (moving slower than normal?), it became needlessly harder. I'm sure the PC version is best, what with patches and mods. I was also dissapointed in how the game trailers tried to make the game look...'sim'ish. But I couldn't hold that against the game itself, just the company. I dunno. It's just not my type of flight game. I want a game where the challenge comes from facing off against enemies with pure skill, instead of having to face off against the loopholes and potholes in gameplay. (though that aspect can be quite entertaining in other games, like the grand theft auto series)

that is true. like most action/arcade games you are pitted aganist overwheming odds and cheapness. i swear i became a 20 time ace by the 5th mission. you can't out-fly enemies because the controls downright stink. i hear you can edit the controls to give you some control over some of the manual control surfaces to do rolls and such, but it's just not the same.

but all is forgiven because it is an arcade game. arcade games have low standards.
