	Just do missions. Once you complete all missions in the area, it magically opens, and you basically get kicked out 'da city into new areas. ------------------- \O/ \| \| PRAISE THE SUN

	that's not good because i can't get past one of the missions at the beginning where u need to get all those girls and drop them of at that one place.the only thing getting me so far in this game is joey and toni and the guy on the phone "grab your balls,we're goin bowling"

	you can only drive down there when you have completed the last mission for Don Salvatorie (that`s when the bridge gets fixed)

	i once got a police car and managed to drive it over the bridge when it was under repairs. i dont know how i did it, but it just happened. i made it over to the other side, but i wasnt able to do any missions there cause i hadnt completed portland. its only happened once and i dont think i will be able to do it again. it was a lot of fun though
