GTA won't start

so it worked the first time then not again?
chances are its a issue a few other people are geting check at other forums for an answer also.

did the game crash or the computer crash? have you made any changes to your system in any way (big or small) scince it was working?

if its not a known issue at other forums check to see if there are any corrupt files on your hard drive by runing chkdsk in command prompt

What are your system specs?
Does your system meet the minimum requirments? If not, well there you have it

I have:
AMD Athlon 2,6+
512 MB RAM
ATI Radeon 9200 SE 128 MB

The specification is ok! Now I tried to reinstall it and it still doesn't work. Some people say that there is a problem with DirectX. On some systems the game works only with DirectX 9.0b. But I'm not sure if that is true. I found it on another forum. Could somebody try this?

Maybe it didnt shut down properly if not just go to alt control and delete and go to prosecces and try and find if its still running even after you closed it down

do you mean the gta_sa.set file in the gta san andreas user files map? i have the same problem...

I've noticed that too. When I first installed the game it didn't start. Then on the other day it did, and it's been working ever since.
