Can't lose my weapons when get busted/killed (spoilers)

Before anyone asks, no I'm not dating Barbara or Katie. I've just started the game, well sort of. I've done all kinds of crap but only one main mission. I've got vigilante, medic, firetruck, burglar, tags, and several other things that are possible before starting the first mission, and I just noticed that I don't lose my stuff when I die. This really irritates me. Anyone know why I can't lose my stuff???

You're irritated that you aren't losing your weapons? I get irritated when I do lose them!

That happens to me! But if i get busted/wasted a second time they are gone then.

this same thing would happen in vc, if you went to the arena competed in the challenge, ended it then got wasted/busted, youd show up back at the arena door, youd lose w/e outift you had but youd still maintain your weapons, though getting wasted/busted a 2nd time would make you lose your weapons.

While I understand people who don't agree with my feelings on this, I would like to see them understand mine. GTA's biggest strong point has always been its freedom, it has always allowed people to play as they wish. Sometimes my wish is to roll around without any weapons, or with only the weapons I choose, and because of this glitch, I'm not able to. What if I feel like picking up brass knuckles sometime to beat some dude, then feel like losing them? Too bad, I'm stuck with them for the rest of the game, and every time CJ shows up in a cutscene, he's got a hunk of metal in his hand. It seems you guys have the impression that I LOVE losing my weapons when I die, but I don't. Most of the time, I would rather keep them, but sometimes I would rather go unarmed, and because of this glitch, that is not possible for me anymore. The point is, my freedom to play the game in the way I would like to play it is reduced. How about this, what if R* decided to take cheats out of the game? Wouldn't bother me, I don't use them, but it would seriously irritate most of you who oppose me. See what I mean? R* designed this game in a way that allows for all kinds of approaches to the game, so that pretty much anyone can have fun playing it, well this particular glitch has taken some of that way from me. You guys can talk all the crap you want about "oh what a fag, he whines because he can't lose his weapons" but see who would whine the most if they took the cheats out of the game because they don't have the skill or nerve to beat it otherwise.

If u have only katie as girlfriend and if u get busted u lose all weapons !
