Apparently, Washington attempted to sue Rockstar games alleging that GTA: San Adreas' main character Carl "C.J." Johnson was designed in his likeness, without his knowledge.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Washington was suing for $250 million, but the California apeals court finally ruled that he'd "failed to establish a probability of defeating Take-Two's First Amendment-based ‘transformative use’ defense." Multiple times, Washington failed to prove that his face and that of Carl Johnson were one and the same. The judge stated that the "plaintiff is relying entirely on C.J.'s physical appearance in the game, but that appearance is so generic that it necessarily includes hundreds of other black males." The judge went on the note that Washington "would have needed to present evidence like tattoos, birthmarks or other physical features" in order to win his case.
Several people sued R* right after the game came out, because CJs life-story was spposedly too smilar to theirs, but this guy "
