How do you beat the alpha blog

I spent a good week trying to beat this guy and all attempts failed miserably. I would try to hit it with the super missiles while it charged and then boost jump out of the way but he always tagged me and I took a lot of damage. lo and behold, I decided to hold my ground and just let the Alpha Blogg attack me while I charged up my super missiles and fired away and IT WORKED! It only took a few more hits with the super missiles and him ramming into me for it to finally die. I think I still had one power bar left, whereas when I tried avoiding him he killed me instantly everytime.

Heh, I beat the little pest without losing a single point of energy....

I used Dark beam

Wow that's really creative Epsalon. I never thought of that approach at all.

However what I did was I used Charge Dark Beam shots. The Darkblast supposedly can take him down in 3 hits but it's harder to use. I believe I had 4 energy tanks too.

He's vunrable specifically when his front flaps fold back making him look kinda like a peeled fruit. He usually get's like this close to when he makes contact with Samus.

Well, it's best to try to dodge out of the way just as you release the super missile, but the most important thing is that you get the super missile off, far more important than sidestepping. As long as you get him with a supermissile hit about 30% of the time, the super missile takes off so much damage, that he could hit you on every charge and you'd still win.
