I tried several strategies for this mission, but they all failed so far.

You must make full use of the allies soldies that come with you. Position them behind the fountain with cover mode on. Place 2 of them at the staircase after the arch on the right. The enemies will attack from there as well. Sniper should be best positioned on one of the lamp post to take out the enemy sniper. Use the Sapper to place randomly the land mines around the entrance, but spare the one and only vehicle mine at the right arch, just after the entrance, because one of the convoys will pass through there. After the first round of ambush when you have taken off all the enemies, move your Sapper to a tanker upfront. Before that, don't forget to move away all your allies if you don't want them to be crushed by tank. Use your grenade to take out the incoming troops before they move to attack where your allies are. Use the bazooka to take out the first convoy on your left. The second convoy will be destroyed by the vehichle mine that you place earlier. Then you should be able to free the theif and spy. Use the bazooka again to destroy the tank at the center of the fountain (Remember, 2 shots). Then you can take your time to eliminate all the remaining troops, should be an easy task if your sniper still has bullets to spare, or put your spy on duty.....good luck.
