Not sure I like the futuristic style

Personally I do like this game but its not what
I would want to see in AC5.Though in AC4 there
were two super weapons(Megalith and Stonehenge)
they were more convincing to me then those here
in AFDS.

For being a different style of game its great and
lots of fun,but I would never ever want to see the
Ace Combat series become like Delta.If there is
something on the lines of the two super weapons of
AC4 that perfectlly fine with me,as long as the
missions,aircraft and weapons are of the real world
and not far fetched.But I really do like AFDS

well, good for you. So sorry to make you become repetetive in your philosophy of the series.

The delta series always has, and always will be inferior to the Ace Combat series in my opinion. Ace combat pushed the limit with the realism in the last game, but nothing like this one has.

I didnt trash the game, I just said I could have done without the science fiction stuff. If its going to be science fiction, it should be that way from beginning to end, not just throw imaginary junk in here and there for lack of ability of coming up with a creative mission.

Super air blasting fans in a canyon, Flying through tornadoes, Huge Walking mobile assault cannons, Plasma barriers, thats just not my cup of tea.

The dogfighting missions, and realistic style missions are top notch in my view, but the science fiction side of it really doesnt do anything for me.

I understood the sci-fi aspects fully. I just dont like them. And I never said that they were crap, maybe you should learn to read before you start calling others mentally inferior.

As stated, this was settled TEN MONTHS AGO. I dont own the game, nor do I play it.

Meh. I don't like it too much. The jibba jabba between pilots is a turnoff, but I can deal with that. I don't like the loose controls of the craft. It's a decent attempt, but i haven't touched this since ace 5 came out, and I bought this game (again- sold it first time when ps2 died) just two weeks prior to ace 5. I don't mind the sci fi. I wouldnt mind at all if Namco decided to do more sci fi flight games, as long as it isnt in the ace combat universe. Unless of course, they put it hundreds of years after the earlier ace games. It would make more sense if they did that, but mixing an F-15 model with space flight is wrong in my book. Fun for a while, but wrong to me. What I wouldn't mind seeing is Namco getting the rights to the COLONY WARS game series, and doing something with that. That would be wicked! I miss colony wars.

I want to play one. Those graphics looked freaking awesome on the psone. It pushed certain aspects of design to the limits. Only other game i've seen with great energy effects and such is Forsaken, for the psone, though that game sucked. The dual analog stick support was ahead of its time, but they switched the right stick with what is now known as left stick functions (move, strafe) while the right stick should be designate to pitch, and heading, and perhaps roll. I dunno. I don't see why AGETEC can keep making half ass armored core games, (just barely got around to use the analog sticks, but the facking AC's turn like effing turtles, and the damn AI stays hopping around like bunnies. It kills gameplay. Not only that, but their recent addition dumbed down primer based weaponry. Machine guns reload every 20 something shots, and the chain gun too. It's a freakin' chain gun!!! CHAIN! It shouldn't have to reload after 20 shots! Not only that but machine gun and chain gun accuracy has been turned down, and you have to be real close for these weapons to be effective, until they reload that is...)

So armored core continues, so why should't colony wars?
There's great potential there. Currently, there isn't many space themed starship/fighter games. Except for the Starwars Starfighter series, which is horrid as is (based on new trilogy).

I dunno. Life has a funny way of doing things. One way is when you come up with an idea, and what do you know? Somebody else announces the same. Much like if you were to think of say, one hell of a vampire action game, and then one gets made a month later with ideas you had.


Happened to me. I wanted a badass western game for the ps2, since, like space fighter games, there wasn't one. A month later, Rockstar announced Red Dead Revolver, which was satisfying enough. Though, I still want SOMEBODY to do a really kick ass remake of the old arcade game, SUNSET RIDERS. Four players a must, kick ass story a must, kick ass gameplay a must, and no neon colored horses.

Say, if we talk about it enough, perhaps a Colony Wars game will pop out of thin air.

I want colony wars! Yunno, there really needs to be another colony wars game. I think all consoles should be getting a colony wars game. Hey, what ever happened to colony wars? You know what was a cool game? Colony wars!
