you just go to alternate secondary weapon as a rocket launcher guy and throw the mines on the ground. When something walks over it the mine explodes, but it cant hurt teammates. u can only lay down 4 at a time.

Along with teamates being able to walk accross, so can enemy engineers, who can also disable mines.
Typically, mines are best use against vehicles, particularily the heavier ones heading in a certain direction. | |
