I can't get the damned disc tray to open AT ALL! I tried multiple times to get the *bleep*ing thing open, and it just will not open, even when I try to manually open it by sticking a pin into that little hole under the tray. It's stuck on something, I think, and I don't have the tools to open it, and I'm not paying hundreds of dollars to get the thing fixed. If that's what it's going to take, I'm just gonna trash it and get a 360. I hate Microsoft so much right now. | |

how long ago did you get it from Gamestop cause they may have a limited warranty thing that could cover fixing it. Otherwise, i'd say go grab a screwdriver and pop it open to see if you can fix it yourself. I got it a year ago, so it might have expired, no idea how long the warranty is for. I found out that hitting the green XBOX logo will get the tray to open, but it has to be done every time, so I'll look into opening it up, but I need a certain screwdriver to do it. Thanks for replying. | |

i had the same problem well i still do but i just giv it a wack on top n it seems to open for me.... cud try that???? i got a 360 but none of my xbox games work on my 360 | |

Yeah, hitting it on the top works for me. It's annoying to do it every time I want to play a game or rip a CD, but oh well, I can deal with it. | |

Why would people hate me because of my sig and avatar? I'm sure there's a way to fix it myself, I just don't have the right kind of screwdriver for it, so I just have to deal with hitting it to change games. | |

Customer service is secondary & limited.These places do have testing department depos but often shipments get mixed up & defective consoles slip through, down to sheer laziness / schoolboy error. If it isnt the console itself, it's often bits that are packaged as part of the deal (mem cards, controllers, etc). I hate all these companies. Better to buy private off trusted source. it happened to me and what i do is take off the silver thing on the disc tray and then what i do is press the eject button and push it in and it comes ope and you have to manually pull it out | |

Your solution is easy, take the shell off, to access the Xbox inners, unscrew the disc tray, throw it out the window, the disc tray will open you get the game thats in there (If there is one) then just buy a new tray... ------------------- I have smelt victory. It smells like corpses. | |
