Of course it's not in their league. RuneScape is a Java-based MMO that you can play for free off any web browswer. You guys are being entirely too harsh. RuneScape is a game for people who want to play a different kind of game. Name one other game where you can mine, fish, woodcut, make bows, make armor, farm, build a house, etc. etc. etc. RuneScape does have worse graphics then most games, but that's because it's JavaScript.

If half the people here would give this game a try for a month of two, I bet you'd like it. Now stop bashing the game. People are intitled to their opinions.

runescape is also intended for younger newblets like 8th and 9th graders(if you play beyond 9th grade thats kinda...newbish) and i agree with explosions hurt that you guys are being to hard on it..he listed good points on why it is the way it is and you guys should give it a ounce of respect

I'm 23 and I play Runescape.

I'm 27 and I play Runescape sometimes. And I don't think it's a shame.Runescape offers multiple types of play, for example I play it only for it's economy system, I like to trade and make millions.I started as coal trader, and in 2 years of playing (once a month) I made a multi million fortune. I think everybody can find something interesting in this game.
Of course there are a lot better games out there, but I don't know any Javascript game that would be better.And becouse it's a Javascript game, I can play it in any computer with internet without even install it.

why would you have to pay? Maybe $10-20 dollars to download and other than being a member, it could be completely free. Also it would be GREAT if xbox/ps3 players could play with computer users. But jagex would need a ton of money to perform such a feat...
