Shadow Warrior was one blast from 90's that managed to make a comeback on PC last year, but soon you'll have to opportunity to let your Lo Wang rise to the occasion on consoles as well later this year. Flying Wild Hog's revival of the 1997 shooter from 3D Realms (yes, the Duke Nukem guys) is now confirmed to be launching for PS4 and Xbox One this September 23rd in North America, and September 26th in Europe. Bandai Namco Games meanwhile reveals it will be handling the European distribution.
While the upcoming console releases of Shadow Warrior still lack any sort of multiplayer, they will feature exclusive new content including a new arena mode and story campaign starring the villain "Orochi Zilla." Hey, the hero is an assassin named "Lo Wang", and he'll still be unabashedly slicing and shooting his way through hordes of demonic foes in old school shooter tradition. Who needs cover shooting mechanics when you've got a katana, after all.
The new Shadow Warrior looks to come across as less of a parody of kung fu flicks like the original game, but it does promise to be not "too serious" without getting all Duke Nukem on us.
