Permanently filtering out funnyjunk from search results in google

well, with the issue of being unable to link to images from funnyjunk, i have finally had enough of those bastards at FJ, who litter my search results with their unlinkable images. so im wondering if it is possible to permanently remove all FJ related search results, without having to manually type in the appropriate exclusion search keys.

damn, that seems more trouble than its worth. would be easier to just check the damn url before i post an image and look silly.

god damn funnyjunk assholes wasting my time...

im probably not doing something right, then, because not only does the custom search engine not show a single result, but, how can i actually USE it without having to bookmark it and preview it all the time?

all i want is to be able to have FJ (among other sites) filtered out from the google page, without having to do any extra work each time i want to search (and implement it on the built in browser search field)

Okay, well if you want a browser-based solution then you could simply inject the "-site:funnyjunk.com" parameter into the default set of options which the Google search provider uses in Firefox (assuming that's what you want because I believe that's what you're using.)

If you check the searchplugins folder within FF's installation directory you should see a file called google.xml which controls how it brings up a search in a variety of different scenarios. The basic premise is that you'd look for this:



And adjust it accordingly:


The exclusions would then be automatically applied to every search you make with the search box or context menu without having to type it manually.
