	Log in to remove this sponsored message So i went to baka.bt to get some anime series i've been wanting to see for a while, and this morning i shut down utorrent, to my surprise the fan of the PC dint disminish its rythm i reset the laptop and turned off the PC and let it to cool for about 6+ hours, the problem shows up again, task manager shows CPU use around 80% and 60% of ram use, resources monitor shows about 1000+ ram being used, with nothing open, i am afraid that either a virus or a malware infiltrated the PC so i am about to run malware bytes and avast both on full scan mode to check, seeking ideas as of why this is happening? 	can you take a screenshot of your processes tab? one with processes sorted by CPU usage, and one by RAM usage. also, make sure the checkbox at the bottom is selected to show processes from all users. -------------------

	i cant see anything in those images. can you get a larger image of number 2 after you have clicked the button at the bottom? also, if you are trying to hide your name for privacy, just black it out on paint. -------------------

	alright, can you go to start, type in services.msc and press enter...then sort your services by whether they are running or stopped, and take another screenshot (or multiple if you have to scroll down to view all started services). -------------------

	alright, that very last service, windows search...stop it. if it stops your CPU problem, that was the cause, in which case, set it to 'disabled' as well. -------------------

	quote hiigaran alright, that very last service, windows search...stop it. if it stops your CPU problem, that was the cause, in which case, set it to 'disabled' as well. i cant set it to disabled and it seems to be something secondary to the problem, i stop the service yet no less than 5 secs task manager shows a spikes from 10% CPU use to 91% and 1005 of ram use ------------------- Support the Last Story wiki! 	alright, this is a little difficult for me because im not on windows...what happens if you right click on a process in the task manager? more specifically, the ones in your screenshot named searchfilterh, and searchprotoc. is there some kind of 'view service' or any other service related option there? -------------------

	click go to service. once you have found the right service, you should be able to disable it from the services.msc area. before you do it though, tell me what the service is, just in case its something important. -------------------

	quote hiigaran click go to service. once you have found the right service, you should be able to disable it from the services.msc area. before you do it though, tell me what the service is, just in case its something important. found a way to disable the service, the windows search one, all i had to do was torigth click on it check the propieties and switch it to disabled, so far 38% of physical memory used and 2% of CPU, let me check if i reset turns the problem again, but thanks a lot ------------------- Support the Last Story wiki! 	yep, your problem is solved, then. however, all i have done is give you a quick fix. disabling this service will stop you from being able to search for files through the start menu. i dont know why that service was using so many resources in the first place. -------------------
