HijackThis Logfile

Hey all, been having some issues with spyware or something lately.
Most noticable is when I'm in firefox browsing the internets, my cursor will have the spinny loading wheel even though nothing other than FF and iTunes is running, and I didn't click anything. Also, there will be another tab automatically open up which redirects to ads or one of those "Your computer has identified spyware, click HERE to scan and remove it!" dialog boxes.

I scanned with AVG10(virus and anti-rootkit), Windows Defender and Spybot Search and Destroy, as well as HJT. AVG came back with no viruses, but quite a few rootkits which it had found, but couldn't remove. Everytime I try to remove any of them, a dialog box appears and says "Action unsuccessful. The module is different."

Spybot came back negative for anything except for a few tracking cookies, however, immunization didn't immunize everything, around 4K files were left open because I didn't have sufficient privileges(which is weird because I'm running as admin.)

for rootkits, try ThreatFire.

also, you might want to scan and remove in safe mode.

Sour, I ran that Kaspersky tool, and it found a rootkit, however it took a piece of system file along with it which prevented Windows from loading at all.
Solved with a full restore, a mod can close this thread if they want.

There were two filed picked up by Kaspersky, one was filed malicious(which was a system file) and the other was labeled suspicious(which was just a cookie file IIRC.)
I chose cure for the malicious one and quarantine for the suspicious one. For the record though, all rootkit removal was done by Kaspersky, nothing was done by either AVG, Microsoft Malicious Software Tool or Sophos Anti-Rootkit.
All my programs are constantly up to date, although I may have traced my problem back to a time where a video in WMP required me to install additional codecs in order to play it, at which point it redirected me to a link and subsequently my computer crashed.

Current status is AVG11 installed and updated with current definitions, and Spybot:Search and Destroy installed and immunized.
