Batman's big New Year's announcement turned out not to be so big after all. While many gamers were hoping for some news related to Rocksteady's next Batman game, instead we've gotten a teaser for some upcoming Batman: Arkham Origins story DLC. Yes, not an announcement, just a teaser. Even better, it's a teaser that came in the form of a tweet! I love getting excited for news on a holiday only to discover it's a tweet with a single sentence and an image. Brilliant.
As for the tease itself, we're treated to an image of what appears to be some sort of awards event -- the Wayne Foundation Humanitarian of the Year award sitting on a table. In the background we see balloons and some typical Gotham gothic windows, as well as a microphone sitting just behind the award. The award itself, and here's where it gets fun, has been halfway encased in ice. Dun dun DUH!
It appears Batman: Arkham Origins might be getting some story DLC starring Mr. Freeze in 2014. We know that because the tweet literally says there will be story DLC in 2014. The Mr. Freeze bit is just what we can assume from the teaser image. It may not be a Batman sequel announcement, but for the Batman faithful I'm sure this will do. Eh, maybe.
Batman: Arkham Origins is currently available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Wii U. There's probably already tons of DLC out there for the game if you want it, you sicko.
