whys everyone say this games good? i think it sucks the battle system sucks its bad storyline it just sucks

It offered variety, which catered to more than just an audience that was into medieval times or one intrigued by the future. In most RPGs, you're planted in one era and meet characters who are similar to each other in their cultures, hobbies, and manners of expression.

The game also provided a lot of replay value, with the "new game+" option and about a dozen possible endings.

not to mention if u take into account when the game was made, it is a whole new and innovative battle system and a more in depth storyline than 95% of the other games of its time

Same makers, diffrent approach. Diffrent approach = win.

Intelligent people like intelligent games. Duh.

Not to say that FF are unintelligent.. But CT took slightly more thought IMHO. ; K I'm going to close my mouth and pretend like I'm not an idiot.

I remember playin this game when i was merely 9 years old and finishing it with my older brother. It is the best game of all time. To think a game in 95 could be this deep.. I still daydream of the game to this day, the soundtrack and all... breathtaking

You obviously didn't finish it. Or get anywhere far in it for that matter.

THAT'S why you don't like it.

I like being able to see the enemies rather than random encounters. I'm pretty sure that Chrono Trigger wasn't the first game that did that (I think Zelda II did it) but it's one of the draws to the game. New Game+ is another thing I like.

First of all,to the person comparing final fantasy to ct.

Go to your fandom club.

Second of all.

Its like comparing apples and oranges,they are both fruit but different.Would you rather if every game was the same?
Originality and knowing were to put things and when to put things in and leave them out.

Third of all,the story was simple but it was good
Fourth of all,the characters were cool and fun,especially the magus guy you get later in the past.
5th of all the replayability is excellent.


I beat the game,and it was my first time playing it on a rom and i thought,WOW!! and to think i missed this game on snes.Was this game not imported? cause i've never seen it.

I enjoy many games,i always keep my mind and heart open to new stuff,wich is why i can enjoy stuff and not cling to just one area.

As for the guy asking about seeing your enemies,when did secret of evermore and secret of mana come out?
I forget.
