Round 1b - RESULTS Antonio Cesaro (15) def. Brian Pillman (5) Cesaro transfers his run of form to the KOTR tournament, picking up a convincing victory over an experienced opponent. The Rock (17) def. Steve Blackman (3) Despite his popularity with the fans, and a flurry of martial arts offence that initially stunned The Rock, Blackman in the end proves no match for The People's Champion, who gets a three-count with the Rock Bottom. John Cena (12) def. Sheamus (8) The Battle of the Babyfaces was everything fans had hoped for – intense, personal and unpredictable. But, in the end, Cena wasn't ready to pass the torch to Sheamus just yet, and he progresses to the next round. Shane McMahon (16) def. Jerry 'The King' Lawler (4) Despite The King's best efforts, the unorthodox, high-risk offence of Shane O'Mac is enough to see him through to the next round. Tazz (14) def. Lex Luger (6) The 'Human Suplex Machine' sends out a major statement of intent, choking out Luger with the Tazzmission. Even though Luger refuses to tap, he can't break the hold, and eventually passes out. Brock Lesnar (15) def. Batista (5) The Battle of the Powerhouses was a far more one-sided affair than anyone had anticipated. After some early gamesmanship and shows of strength, Lesnar's UFC experience comes into play, and he is able to wear Batista down enough to hit a devastating F5 and pick up the victory. 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin (17) def. Chris Benoit (3) Benoit's technical excellence is no match for the sheer tenacity of Austin, who seems invigorated to be back in the tournament that started his 3:16 revolution. He takes out The Rabid Wolverine in lightning time, before celebrating with a beer bash. Chris Jericho (18) def. Ultimate Warrior (2) Warrior's status as an 80's wrestling juggernaut – one of the few men to challenge Hulkamania for popularity – is not enough to keep him in the tournament against a motivated and focused Y2J. The match is over nearly as soon as it begins – Jericho hits the Codebreaker and progresses to Round 2. Eddie Guerrero (15) def. Shelton Benjamin (5) Two excellent technical wrestlers collide in a match sure to have delighted wrestling purists. However, Latino Heat's experience proves the difference maker, as he hits a quick Frog Splash to score the victory. Paul London (15) def. Mitsuharu Misawa (5) Another treat for the fans was delivered as the high-flying London took on Misawa, who is often regarded as one of the best all-round wrestlers in the business. Following a fast-paced encounter, however, London wins with a school-boy roll-up in arguably one of the biggest wins of his career. Round 1c - Deadline: Thursday 11th October 9PM (GMT) (My votes in bold) Mr Perfect vs. Rikishi Edge vs. The Undertaker New Jack vs. Andre The Giant Road Warrior Animal vs. Scott Steiner Ted DiBiase Snr vs. Bret Hart Sabu vs. Ken Shamrock Sting vs. Terry Funk Cody Rhodes vs. Scotty Too Hotty Chavo Guerrero vs. Samoa Joe Grand Master Sexay vs. Meng Couple of big matches again, Edge vs. Undertaker being the obvious standout. Personally I found the toughest to call Sabu/Shamrock - two polar opposites but a lot of respect for both. ------------------- *~Celebrating 10 Years on Neoseeker~*

	Haha, classic clip. I'm only just realising how unlikely it was for all three to be drawn so closely together, but this tournament seems to be throwing up some real choice encounters very early on. Just had a look at the draws for the rest of the Round 1 matches and there isn't really any other "huge" encounter, but definitely a few interesting matches that will be very close calls. 	Mr Perfect vs. Rikishi - Rikishi was fun, but Perfect was great in all aspects. Edge vs. The Undertaker - Oddly two really hugely popular guys I never really cared for. But I'll go with Taker. New Jack vs. Andre The Giant - lul Road Warrior Animal vs. Scott Steiner - How can you compete with a man who is a World Heavyweight Championship and has wrestled a lot of countries? HEH? Ted DiBiase Snr vs. Bret Hart - Gotta have Hart move on for potential dream match possibilities. Sabu vs. Ken Shamrock - Childhood favorite of mine. Never cared for Sabu. Sting vs. Terry Funk - HEEEEY FOLEY... your wife's a whore. Cody Rhodes vs. Scotty Too Hotty - Cody's a better performer without question but I'm gonna go with Scotty for nostalgia reasons. Chavo Guerrero vs. Samoa Joe - Chavo was one of the most underutilized guys during his WWE stint, but Samoa Joe has was excellent in his prime. Grand Master Sexay vs. Meng - One is best known for biting a man's nose off for calling him "one of those gay wrestlers". The other is known for getting raped upside down in a shower by JBL.
