Either through the source code of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag's upcoming launch website, or a slip-up as the site launched, a release date and more have been leaked. As previously discussed, Black Flag will be launching this year (fiscal year 2014) on current gen consoles -- October 19, to be exact. Later, however, it will also be launching on next-gen consoles.
Other small details from the launch site include a confirmation that the fancy poster that first confirmed the game's title will be acquirable via pre-order at retailers. The poster itself will be limited edition, made by Todd McFarlane. Also, all of this will be officially unveiled not next Monday, when it's said that press preview event embargoes will be expiring, but on Tuesday instead. A fancy launch trailer is also expected.
Not much else to cover, beyond what Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag actually is. Just to recap what we know so far, Black Flag is coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, PC and next-gen consoles -- likely PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's soon-to-be-announced hardware. The title focuses much more on seafaring, taking place in the Carribean islands. Also, it takes place in 1715, prior to the events of Assassin's Creed 3. More to come soon.
