I'm sure most veterans of League of Legends remember the days when Xin Zhao use to be able to carry the game no matter what but after Riots nerfed to the Champion do you think he is still viable I'm any position in the current meta game?

Still completely viable, just not overpowered any longer. I mean, sure, he's outranked by many other assassin's now, but he's still good once he gets on that killing spree. A fed Xin is still a nightmare to deal with. But he's no longer #1 on the OP assassin's list. I think Kass wins that. Hell, a Kass bursted me from 3/4 health in 0.04 seconds. Not even kidding. Think it may have been a slight glitch, but no champion should be able to do that.

His damage kinda drops late game, since he scales badly with anything that isn't attack speed. And if you build crit on him prepare to die upon dashing in because you're paper. Play him bruiser, but prepare to be useless lategame.

Xin Zhao is okay, but if you play him as an assassin, he has no escape. If you play him as a bruiser, he's severely out scaled late game, this may sound bad, but you'll still be able to do well, there are just better options. I consider xin zhao as one of the champions in need of a fix, or rework. I find it funny how riot doesn't like addressing these issues, but loves tweaking champions that are fine already.

Xin Zhao is getting a rework set to be released with the stealth rework now, instead of after.

He is set to be getting a new passive, slightly reworked Q and W, and a buffed R.

I suspect that the best build will be tanky dps.

But he should be able to murder squishies like an assasin if he builds like it.... and die like a man after 6 seconds

I'm quite interested in the rework. The only reason I still have yet to get xin is because he tends to fall off in my experiences, so hopefully with this, I will have more reason to get and play him.

So I guess he is back in the OP tier. That buff is ridiculous, just played him jungle on PBE and I absolutely wrecked the team and was counter jungling harder than the Dr. Mundo.

Why do I play him as a support, you ask?

Tons of Damage
Xin Zhao's passive, challenge, gives your lanemate a damage increase because it decreases the challenged enemy's armor.

Crowd Control 24/7
Even without maxing cooldown reduction, Xin Zhao has a knockup and knockback (+15% of enemy's current health as damage!) on low cooldown because of his ability, Three Talon Strike. Oh, and he has a slow too.

This means that he sets up/ensures that a kill will be had, and can peel pesky enemies from your carry.

Been playing him as jungle alot, I really enjoy it. He's got some nice CC and his charge can catch up to people very well, not to mention he has great base movement speed too.
