Explanations for New Typing

I know there are quite a few threads on this topic at all time beings, but I'm unaware if there is one just to list pros or cons of new typing in general.

I keep seeing some similar arguments, and a quick recap could guarantee a few ideas, what we should be keeping in mind despite opinion.

"Learning New types"
I view this as a positive, the game is always evolving. Pun INTENDED!; and for sure it ties into the next point

"Balancing out the typing"
Which needs to be done... Electric in particular could use two type weaknesses *cough*sound and light*cough* as it has only one weakness; others could certainly be given new spread, seeing as the gameplay has changes quite a bit since the odd 17 types have been around.

"What would the types be?"
The same general ideas seem to be floating about, that could easily show some favortism about what is to come. Id love to see three final types.

Ground types are pretty common though, no?

Some type balance would be nice.

I also don't have any ideas for new types, besides the ones mentioned.

I like the concept of sound, wouldn't be horrible, but it probably wouldn't be my favourite type. I don't really like the concept of the Light type imo, seems very similar to Psychic. I wouldn't be disappointed, but I don't think it's really needed. Some other types that aren't as popular as these two (wind type, etc) I don't like at all lol. ;P

It's not just you! I don't like it either. I don't think it'd work particularly well at all. Sound is a bit more plausible, if you ask me. There's already quite a few pokemon that would fit into that category if it were made one. I don't know what it's strengths/weaknesses would be though.

And I agree with the type advantages and weakness, I have no ideas personally. Maybe a weakness to Water, because Sound doesn't travel well through water? I dunno, I'm just shooting some idea. :c

Yeah, I always figured that the point of sound based attacks was to have special Normal type moves, so making Sound its own type would just leave Hyper Beam.
