why does everyone think gen 6 has something to do with genes?

have i missed something? am i the only one that thinks it's a hint at 3d? you know, the x, y and z axis'? i dont get where the gene theory came from. it would have made sense last gen with genesect but not so much this gen.

The two big factors that stick out are:

1. The X and Y themselves, which could relafe to the X and Y genes that determine gender (XX for female and XY for male)
2. In the Japanese logos, there is part of the logo stylised to look like a strand of DNA

So it's highly possible. I do think it has some relation to dimension as well, doubt it's just a coincidence tbh. I dunno if Game Freak will incorporate some sort of dimension importance in the actual plot though.

If my rambling make sense haha. I can't seem to think straight atm.

Then...there's less evidence for the genetics theory? They look very similar to the double helix shape that nucleic acids form.

I think the names work in both ways.
the third edition will be most likely Z and that way they'll refer to the 3 axis,since this gen is the one on the 3ds.

However X and Y probably also hint at genes too,because we already have palkia,which basically represents already the room and thus the 3 dimensionality.
Z may have to do with artificially manipulated genes,since there is no Z-gene(or at least not any well known one)

Not that it's hinting at 3D, but rather just relating to the fact that the games will be 3D.
Just the fact it's gonna be on the 3DS and the titles are X and Y makes me feel it's more than just coincidence.
