Pokemon shouldn't be Flying-type unless they have wings anyway

Flying isn't reserved to wings. There are types who can fly by magic, like mew and shaymin.

For deeper analysis look at the video itself. The bows flying around its animation imply wind, or flying.

Its first opponent is a fighting type, and its third opponent is a ground type. What do those two types have in common? They are weak to flying.

Has anyone else noticed that Sylveon's coloring looks awfully similar to the colors on the heart scale and that it was released near valentines day? This could suggest that it could be normal type because of the infatuation status and its link to the normal type. Also, its English name, French name and German name all have possible relations to mythology - Sylveon could be based on the Sylph, Nymphali could be based on a nymph and Feelinara's name is based on fairy (fee means fairy in German) which suggests that it could also be flying, ghost or even possibly a light type if Game Freak invent that! Finally, I just wanted to point out that the star move that it uses at the end of the video could be Last Resort, not swift like everyone is saying.

Dunno why they're keeping so much a secret unless it's a new type. Which ..argh. ;-;

Sylveon. Hmmmm. Didn't like it at first but I guess it's growing on me.

And my bets are still on Flying type.

Sylveon, Syl, Sylph, elementals of the air and wind in mythology, usually depicted as fairies. In Greek mythology, Nymphs are a type of minor god, usually with some sort of power over something in nature, some kinds with power over the winds, clouds, weather, the stars, and other things related to the skies. Considering they chose Sylveon as the English counterpart, it being related to the mythological Nymphs and not biological Nymphys is much more likely. Flying type argument just keeps getting stronger and stronger.

Of course, as said, it could just be feminine mythological creatures, but what else do they really have in common besides those two things? The German name isn't "fairy" either, but I have no idea just what it is. And, well, none of the others are fairy either, so I don't know where Kanon got that from other than that the German name "Feelinara" sounds similar to "fairy", but you could argue it sounds like "feline" too.

The "Focus Blast" looks more like some sort of Fire type move to me, but I really have no idea. Could be.

Not really. It pretty much just says "it's not a the same as the old ones, and we aren't telling you what it is". It could be, and I'd say it's the most likely to happen should they do a new type. Although I almost don't want them to just to see the people deadset on a new type happening getting burned.

Wait, mythological creatures with magical qualities. What about Magic type? What if Sylveon is a magical girl?

I don't know about you guys, but clearly Sylveon becomes that ball after the feathery attack. It can't be focus blast. :/
From the aggressive looks of it, the intense sound effect, and the supposed feathers, I feel like it's brave bird or something of that sort.
The fact that they are feathers is starting to diminish since they looked quite rapid and fire like, but they do have tips, and I don't believe that there is any extremely powerful fire move that has the user ram into something. Don't get me wrong, it could be a new attack, but my money is on a Flying type eevee.

Also maybe the orange move is Brave Bird. The DPPt/HGSS animation really supports it, since as said here:
