Official Pokémon League Guessing Game - Version X/Y

Now, I'm sure each and every one of you recognizes this phrase from somewhere, and you may be getting images of silhouettes and the sound of a nifty theme in your head.

Unfortunately, so many of you of you have reached the status of Pokemon Master already that it would be no fun to have silhouettes, but we'll instead go with a 20 Questions style of playing to make it a fair battle.

The rules are simple for those unaware of how to play: in each round, one person (who we'll call the Champion) thinks of almost anything in the Pokemon World (items, locations, people, and of course Pokemon), and the goal is for everyone else, who will be called Trainers, to ask a series of questions to narrow down an guess what the Champion is thinking of.

Should the Trainers be unable to correctly guess the item within 20 questions, the Champion will reveal it and get to spend another round as the Champion.

The Champion must also provide three hints in regards to his/her item so that the round is fair from the beginning.

Other Rules

1. All questions must be either yes or no. The game will lose much more of its fun if too many details are given at once.

2. The Champion must respond in a timely manner. If not, s/he will have given up their position and anyone who volunteers may step up as Champion. Additionally, the recommended amount of questions before a response is 4

3. All Trainers have only one question per response from the Champion. You may ask exactly one question after the s/he has responded to all of the past True/False Questions. Also, be sure to number your response accordingly.

4. Negligible item variations are not allowed. For instance, you cannot rule that a person did not win the round if they guessed Super Potion as the item, and you were thinking of a Max Potion. The two items serve essentially the same purpose and should be classified under Potion in general. Pokeball variations are allowed, however.

5. Just like questions, you may only have one guess per response, though it doesn't not need to be in the same post. Multiple guesses will be disregarded, even if one of them is correct.

6. Have fun. Remember, this is a game, and there is no need to get worked up because you haven't had the opportunity to be Champion. Don't worry, your time will come.

This is an example of an effective question/Champion response:

We will use a scoring system in this game.

Rules for Scoring:

1. The point reward will start at 5 for correct answers and decrease by one for every 4 questions asked. (5 Points will be awarded to Trainers who guess correctly within the first four questions, 4 points between 5-8, etc.)

2. If the Champion wins the round, s/he will be awarded a full five points.

3. For every 25 points a trainer/champion wins, they will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. The game will then continue as normal.

Unfortunately, I will not not be able to keep score myself all the time, so if anyone is willing to help keep me updated, I'd appreciate it.

Sure it's a little less accurate by name, but I'll either change it when a good enough name is thought of, or if it causes too much confusion on what the game is.

Also, I changed my mind Mouldy Cheese, and I'll add giving 3 hints beforehand to the rules to make it a little more fair, and much more possible for you guys to get the 5 point bonus. I'll also add the hints to my updates.

The idea is still a little rough around the edges, but I should have it all fixed by the time my round is over.

My original post meant that they don't necessarily have to be in the same post. You could ask a question at one point, and then guess what it is a few hours later, regardless of whether I responded or not.

Ooh, I like those Who's That Pokemon games. I think 20 questions is a more fitting title.
