Keeping The Medal System - Page 3

Its just like a the trophy systems in a lot of modern game, its pretty pointless. Medal: you took your first step, medal: You traded pokemon. Gotta say meh, I know what I have and haven't done so go away I'm not a noob! =_=;

Sure if they tone them down a bit.

You want me to link up with HOW many people Gamefreak? You want me to catch HOW many Pokémon in Entralink?

I say they should do something like the PS3, and have it pop up, and then go away. Maybe have it like in the PC, where you log onto the Medal System thing, and it's like "New Medals!" and you can go look at them. That way, I wouldn't be that annoyed. I loved getting medals, but talking to Mr. Medal was a hassle for me, personally.

I personally liked it, but I think they should improve on it. Like have a worthwhile reward and more fun things to do with it.

Medals for individual stat maxes instead of an overall effort ribbon

I would be okay with the return of medals as long as they:

A) Are harder to achieve than taking you first step (felt no accomplishment AT ALL)

B) Do not require wireless/wi-fi/entralink communications to achieve.

C) Are received as you go, and not by talking to a guy at a Pokemon Center.

I never really saw the point of the introductory medals to be honest. The system itself is pretty much common sense and it really dissolves what accomplishment may come out of getting a middle. Halfway through the game I noticed I was getting a medal for virtually everything, so I stopped caring about them as far as achievements go. If they must bring back the medals, they should definitely be exclusive to more challenging tasks.
