Not to sound like a broken record to Gotenks here, but I wouldn't mind it provided everyone else is cool with it. Another reason I've been weary about throwing up all the subforums is because of how cluttered it looks, but a simply link on the header is a totally different case. I lack any knowledge about wikis so I'll leave this up to the other members.

you should check 'em out sometimes.
though alot of people don't know they exist or aren't fired up to contribute while we certainly have the possibility to make 'em the best on the web.
I'd say try it out and get feedback on it.

Speaking of which, can we have a proper header/footer contest?

The temporary one is a little bland, since it's pretty much a screenshot from the announcement video (no offense Virtue I think you were the one to put that up), and we definitely don't need that much source material for the headers. Maybe we can have two separate headers for X and Y, for their respective mascots, and have them randomize each time you load the page so it's one or the other.

Besides, I know that there are a few graphic artists around here (including myself) that would like to give it a shot.

That's because it is, and that was the intention right from the start. The idea was to throw up something simple until we've received a few more resources to create a proper header contest. As you probably know, we haven't gotten anything "new" in regards to artwork, game play photos, etc. I feel like this would make the contest pretty bland and lacking in variety, which would lead to another contest request several months later when we do have more resources. Competition is scarce recently, so I have my doubts that we'd be able to hold two in a span of 2-3 months. Granted, I'm not a graphics genius by any means, but even I realize that less resources = less variety = less amount of entries.

The unfortunate thing is I don't know when we're going to get any new resources, so if by some chance there's enough support for a contest at this very moment, we could probably get something going within a few days. I don't want to look like I'm shooting it down. Obviously if other members agree with your stance I don't see why we couldn't make something work.

Man, you guys are spoiled Back when we did the Skyward Sword header contest, there were only a handful of screenshots for that and we still got a fair amount of entries in.

But I guess I see your points, not everyone is going to have that great a variety in their entries if all we have is a few pieces of artwork and a short video.

But I'll be back to suggest it again once there's more.

I like the current header, it's always good to change it every once in a while to freshen things up though but it's fine for now I think.

A general news thread sounds alright, it has been done in the past. I'm interested to see what these screenshots you speak of are Mouldy Cheese!
