Flipeno spell lesson.

I can't for the life of me get past the Flipendo spell lesson with Quirrell. No matter how close to the spell pattern my mouse is, I can never manage to get a high enough percentage. Does anyone know how to get past this part?

Yeah! I tried it with both the laptop mouse and a USB mouse as well, but the highest I've ever managed to score was a 34%.

If you have trouble with drawing the shapes try reducing your mouse's sensitivity on your computer. Makes it much easier.

I had this exact same problem, but I just figured it out.

I have Windows 7 on my laptop, I think the game doesn't run properly on newer platforms. so here's what I did:

Right click the game icon
Select 'Properties'
A window should pop up
Click the 'Compatibility' tab
Above the first drop down menu there should be a check box saying, "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"
Check this box
Select 'Windows 98/ Windows Me' from the Drop down menu.
Click 'OK' at the bottom, and re-load your game.
You should go from barely getting 30% to easily getting 80%

and slowing down your mouse speed in the options menu of the game will help also.

I'm having the exact same problem! I've tried a few other compatibility modes, but none are working. I'm stuck, and I'd love a solution...

i have the exact same problem! i was just playing the game all day yesterday and after i changed the compatibility mode to windows 98/ME, the spell lessons were working fine, but i arrived to the lumos one today, and again i cant get past 35% and im sooo pissed off!! any solutions? im dying to continue this game..!

Hey guys! I think I got it! It is not in connection with the time, but with the symbol itself. The key is: don't finish it completely! You can do about like two thirds of it and that should give you enough percents to pass. Actually, I was even able to do it for the second time this way. Just in case: when I realized that, my game was also set to Win98 compatibility and I tried to change the mouse speed before it several times. Go ahead, try it, and let me know here if it worked for you!
