i have nhl 2002 and am almost completely satisifed with that. but ive been thinking about stepping it up to 2004, but i want to make sure that's a good idea, so i wont waste money or time. i think don taylor is halirious in 2002, is he in the update? plus, if anyone has the game can you please check the pittsburgh roster to see if Marc-Andre Fleury (G,29) is available? and how good is the create a skater feature? any help would be most appreciated, thanks for any replies.

Well I know they took out of the anocers but I forgot which one... They put some stupid guy in. Can't help you with the goalie I just rented this game and had to give it back today.

Okay, Don Taylor IS in the game...but they went cheap with him, he's not funny at all in this one, its not that his jokes aren't funny, its that he doesnt have any jokes.. I was extremely unimpressed with this. But the gameplay in this game I find is amazing. The difficulty is retarted, the Easy difficulty settings is probably the same or slightly more difficult than the medium difficulty settings in nhl 2002 or 2003. And I live in Cape Breton(Screaming Eagles...marc andre fleury) and I was let down to discover than fleury is not in the game. Created players are great, you can create a 99 overall player.....but....there is a draw back, if you create a 99 overall player, you better be able to afford his salary. A 99 overall created player is worth about 12 million a year salary.

As for purchasing this game, if you are a hockey fan and you enjoy hockey games, I would deffinately suggest purchasing this game. I bought it about 3 weeks ago, and I've been nothing but pleased with this game so far, except for the few minor draw backs I've mentioned. The created player aspect however I think is a good thing.

Yeah the only thing I was really unimpressed with was the announcing. There should be an unlockable that allows you to unlock don taylor's jokes, lol.

Sorry, I was wrong. They gave old Donny the boot, now it's Jim and Craig... And as for Fleury, he's no longer with the Penguins. He's probably in the game somewhere, but there are A LOT of players. Don't let that keep you from getting the game though.

high 70s or mid 80s? Fleury is unreal, more like high 80s to mid 90s. I don't know how much you follow hockey, but he was chosen by pittsburg last draft, he was chosen number 1 overall. And he is an unreal goaltender, imo anyway.

I follow hockey just not the penguins... Mostly the wings.

Fleury should not be a high 80's to low 90's goalie. Ryan Miller for the Buffalo Sabres won the Hobey Baker award in college and is a high 70's to low 80's goalie. I'd say Fleury is comparable to him.

so is nhl 2004 a "must have" for those that have and love nhl 2k3? besides the obvious more current rosters, are there any outstanding features that sets the newer version apart from its predecessors?
