I passed my theory today so now have booked my practical in about a months time. It's been a good day all round for me.

I guarantee my first few cars will die at my hands, most probably just fall apart internally. I only have £1000 tops to spend on a car for the first few years if I have any hopes of paying the insurance and petrol.

Whats wrong with yours I am what I am?

£1000 is quite good for a starter car. I spent £375 on a Citroen AX and you can imagine how shocking that was. Then my next car was a Golf GTi, had if for a month or two then realised I couldn't really afford it, then I spent £450 on a Skoda Felicia which was God awful again. Now thank *bleep* I car share with my dad.

Test in three days! aah!

Did a mock the other day, failed again. Think i got 4 minors for not checking my mirrors before i indicate off a round about. Which i didn't even know you had to do.

Then i got four minors for not checking my mirrors when i'm braking. I just can't get the hang of it, i don't see what benefit it gives you.

Then i didn't stop completely at a stop sign, which is a Major. I didn't know you have to stop completely, if even the road your going on to is clear, pretty silly really. All i did was roll it up in first gear like any other junction, road was clear so i went.

One minor for speeding, was doing 70 down the motorway and i missed the 50 sign.

Stop sign and checking my left mirror before indicating off a roundabout can be fixed by then, i've got two lessons before the test so it's just the looking in top mirror when braking which needs work, my instructor only started talking about mirrors about a month ago, which is wrong really, i'd preferred it he'd told me to check my mirrors right from the first lessons so it would sunk in by now.

2 serious faults, both observation.

One was at a mini-roundabout, i was sat there waiting and i let the clutch slip a bit by accident and the examiner thought i meant to do it and that i went at the wrong time.

The second was that this bike came through some red lights and nearly went into me, yet he marked me down for observation as i should of seen it and dealt with it. Wtf? HE went through a red light!

He said it was a good drive overall though and i should book it again.

I would have honestly got out and failed my test again for beating the shit out of the pedestrian while in control of a motor vehicle... Its as bad as drivers who make you fail your test by undertaking you or parking behind you while parallel parking.

The way driving tests areconducted makes me wonder sometimes. I passed mine on my 3rd attempt and i can honestly say hand on heart it was a terrible drive. On my hill start i rolled backwards.... For quiet some time i might add (lol), and also made some other mistakes. Yet my first 2 attempts were fine, but i only failed due to other peoples faults. So why they passed me when i drove crap, and failed me when i drove good was a bit strange. But just keep at it you'l eventually pass. Good luck
