Gaming keyboard/mouse?

Ive been lo0oking around and reading review on differnet products. Some people complain ebcasue ergonomic keyboards arent good for gaming, others do like them. Some dont like wireless becuase of the risk of battery death in mid game. Then theres interference. and optical vs laser. So Im wondering, what keyboard mouse combo is ideal for gaming. What does a good gaming mouse/keyboard need to be considered good?

I use a Logitech G7 Cordless Laser gaming mouse and a Saitek Eclipse illuminated keyboard.

The mouse operates at 2.4GHz so unlike a lot of cordless mice it doesn't suffer from lag, it also comes with 2 battery packs which when one has gone flat you just replace it with the other one and place the flat battery in the supplied desktop charger. A full charge takes 2 hours on a powered USB port. Each battery lasts around 7 hours of constant gaming. It also has multiple customisable dpi settings so you can choose the sensitivty with a little button on the mouse (perfect for switching from normal shooting to sniping in an fps).

The keyboard is comfortable to use and is illuminated so you can use it in a dak or dimly lit room. The keys have 3 light settings low, high and off. It has a nice wrist rest and is comfortable to ue for extended periods of time.

Some other good choices would be the logitech G5 (the wired version of the G7) and the logitech G-15 keyboard.

I use a Saitek Gamer Keyboard (wired) and a Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000.

What type of setup you want depends on what games you play.

RTS and RPG - go with a keyboard and mouse with programmable buttons. (Saitek keyboard comes with a 9 button programable pad)

FPS - look for a high dpi mouse that is the most comfortable in your hand.

Also, an important part that is often overlooked, get a good mousepad. For FPS get one with a large surface area and low friction surface.

The Microsoft 6000 mouse uses 2AA batteries, and i have had the mouse for a year, only changed batteries twice.

Only problem i have had with it was an issue with overlapping interupts.
