Details about LSII thinking of buying it...
|
First off, is this game REALLY worth buying? What would give it our of 1-10?
How many missions are? What aircraft are there? Does the F/A-18E look like one (Don't think LS can do that good of a job on a E)? For the 2 players, is it like Acecombat04 and AECA, or is it a lot better? Any other details would be great and helpful, just trying to see if it is any better than the first.
What I think is dumb is how a A-10 can take off from a carrier, and how MIG-29s and stuff come off of American style ones. At least they could of put a MIG-29 Fulcrum K, and a Su-33 because those are the types of MIG-29s and Flnakers that land on the carrier.
Hope its worth it!

First off, this game is not bad,not as good as Ace Combat 04 or Aero Elite, but its not bad. Lethal Skies II is quite a bit better than the first game of this series and does offer some pretty good replay value.
As for the two player part,I can't comment on that because I haven't been able to try it out,but the game does have also for I-LINK hook up where you can play online I belive.
As for missions, there is a total of twenty missions, of which some of the these you have to unlock. The missions IMOP are so/so,they're not bad,but also not all that great either,I guess I prefer ones like in AC-04 and in AECA much better than in this game, but as I stated, they're not bad.The free flight is okay, but there's not a whole lot to view or see, though it maybe the earth has been ravaged by global warming and such, I just wish there could've been some more details to see.One thing I don't like about this game,it does feel like you're in a box flying, there is no scense of distance like in AC-04 and AECA.I just wish you had a bit more distance to fly around in.
There are a total of 19 aircraft, three of which are V/STOL,these are the aircraft in the game.
1)F-14D 2)F-16. 3)A-10. 4)F/A-18E. 5)F-5Z. 6)F/A-22. 7)F-35 JSF(V/STOL). 8)F-15E. 9)F-25. 10)AV-8B. 11)X-29. 12)YF-23. 13)SU-27. 14)SU-35 15)MIG-29. 16)S-37/SU-47 Berkut. 17)S-47(V/STOL). 18)EF-2000. 19)JAS-39 Grippen.
Yes,the F/A-18E does look like the Super Hornet.
As for BGM and sound, could've been done a lot better, the BGM is IMOP so/so and not all that great, but its okay.Sound is okay as well and could've been better as well.
Overall, this game is not one to pass up,its not my all time favoriite, but at least its better than the first game.Another thing to mention is that you do get up to about four wingmen to choose,I personally do and don't like how they perform at times, but you have them.Again, this is not a bad game though and I would suggest you rent it first before buying it to see if its something worth investing your money in.

Can you hover in the game? And how big is the terrain?
Thanks for all the info, very helpful.

Yes,you can hover and land vertical with all three V/STOL aircraft. However, both the S-47 and F-35 can be tricky when landing them in the vertical position. The AV-8B is pretty easy to handle and is not as tricky to land as are the other two aircraft are.
As for how big the terrain is,I'am not quite sure what you mean? but from my point of view on this,it feels like you're more in a small box, more like a boxing rink than flying a combat mission. It seems that before you know it,you're flying right out of the combat area.So it doesn't feel like there is a sence of distance to fly in as in AC-04 and AECA.

That is what I meant. So the terrain size is about the same as the first.
What it fake is that the F-35 is way easier to land then the AV-8B. The Harrier takes lots of practice. As with the F-35, it was made a lot easier to land in VTOL.
I'm really waiting for Airforce Delta Strike, and Ace Combat5. I am also waiting for LOMAC. I have the demo and it is quite fun. What I hope AC5 will have is that you can break the sound barrier like in LOMAC. Its cool hearing it.

Are the missions as long as Ace Combat 4. Or are the mission about killing one thing and its over?
