forum need help

hello i am new to the football manager series and have had an alright time, but the one thing that always fustrates me is losing 75% of my matches and now is beginning to become a very annoying habbit, i play as derby county (the team i support) i set the training sessions, i do positive team talks and shouting instructions from the touchline and none of this works at all, am i missing something out? as much help as possible would be greatful

If this is the first time playing football manager, I'd recommend starting as Barcelona/Madrid/Man City/United etc. to get used to the game and to see who are the better players and once you feel ready to start as a more challenging team, that's when I'd recommend starting as Derby!

at home I'd play Balanced - Control or even Balanced - Standard

away - Ridid - Standard or Rigid - Counter

what formation are you using?

I struggled on this particular version to begin with, but i went through several websites to try and find a decent tactic.

Once you find a couple of tactics that works you can then focus on the other areas like shouts and training. Also if you don't like negotiating contracts and hiring/firing staff you can leave that to the Director of football. You can set so you can have final say also.

This is how i started out to get to basics. You don't need to be at a big club to do this but it may help.

Haha, oh dear.... "glory boy city fan" - I've been a City fan since 1998 so if that's a gloryhunter, fair play.

It depends on the team you are but I mostly always play fluid and control.
