Make no mistake, this game is a lot harder than in year's previous. There are no killer tactics and micromanaging every detail of your club is rewarded.

It sounds to me that you are having two major problems that aren't helping...one, you are simply switching things around too much and two, that you are probably defending too aggressively. Team cohesion is a real pain in the arse this year, I don't take my training off of "Cohesion/Very High" until around the three month mark of the season and I almost never juggle tactics or team sheets for the first two months. Essentially pick a tactic and a squad and go for it. Two, aggressive pressing defense has worked for the past four or five FMs but this year if you attempt that your backline still stands around mesmerized until they give away a penalty with a stupid foul, try standing off more and playing a rigid backline with one aggressive stopper in front of them to break up careless attacks and to hound the opposing midfield.

Plus you should also make sure that you are on the latest patch, I conceded goals for fun on the beta and the initial release but the latest patch has turned my tactics into juggernauts.
