Founded in 1885, Southampton are a professional English football club currently playing in the English Premier Division. The club their home games at St. Mary's Stadium and possess state of the art training and youth facilities. The club's training ground is Staplewood. The Southampton reserve team play at Staplewood. The club also has excellent junior coaching and a well-established youth recruitment network. The club is affectionately known as The Saints and retains a fierce rivalry with Portsmouth.

As a club which enjoyed its best spell of success during the 1970s and their last competition win coming as recently as 2010, The Saints are a club with a growing history. Southampton finished runners-up in the English top division for the only time in 1984, won the FA Cup in 1976 and finished second best three further times, finished runners-up in the English 2nd tier in 1966, 1978 and 2012, and finished runners-up in the Capital One Cup in 1979.

Boruc is the best rated keeper in The Saints squad, with Davis and Gazzaniga quite a distance behind. Gazzaniga isn't ready for the 1st team yet, so would best be sent out on loan for a season, Davis is old and on a decent wage, probably best to sell him and get in a cheap replacement on loan for a season before Gazzaniga comes back.



Right back is a position that doesn't need strengthening. Clyne is good enough to start now and will stay as a 1st team player for years. Could maybe have a back up for him as Richardson isn't anything special, but he's adequate cover.



A new LB is needed for the team from the start, Fox is average and the back up options are even worse. Clyne can cover there, but then that leaves RB exposed. Dickson can be sold, as he isn't anywhere near good enough for the Premiership. Seabourne isn't any use anywhere.



Need some changes in CB. Hooiveld, Fonte and Yoshida are all decent, but not good enough to be considered guaranteed starters in the Premiership. Hooiveld and Yoshida are the best partnership from what you have, but new additions are heavily advised before you start the season.



Schneiderlin is the best DM, and only accomplished one at the club. If you were going to use a DM in your tactic, he would certainly be 1st choice to play there. I'd suggest a back up option as well as no one else can play there to a decent level.



Plenty of options in CM, Cork, Schneiderlin, Davis, Chaplow, Ward-Prowse and Lallana can all play there. Ward-Prowse is one for the future. Depending on your tactic, you don't really need to sign any new players in the position as you have plenty of players available to play there. I'd suggest a back up option if you use 3 CMs though.



Plenty of very good options in AMC. Gaston Ramirez is the best attacking player in the squad and is accomplished anywhere across the attacking line. I'd suggest using him behind the striker due to his brilliant link up play. Tadanari Lee and Lallana are decent in the position as well, with Lee preferring a more advanced role though. Guly can play there, although I'd strongly advise selling him. Ward-Prowse is one for the future again, I'd suggest a year out on loan to guarantee him more 1st team football for a better progression.



Again, Ramirez is the best player in the squad for this position, although he's not as good as in AMC. Guly, Puncheon and Mayuka are the best options for AMR, with either Puncheon or Mayuka being my preferred choice. There's enough options in the squad to not need any new additions.



Ramirez tops the chart again, with Lallana a very close 2nd. I'd use Lallana on this side, with Ramirez in the middle. Jay Rod and Mayula are options over this side, as well as Puncheon. The attacking midfield options are the strongest area of the squad, I'd suggest saving money for work on the defence.



Also one of the strongest areas of the team, upfront doesn't need any changes. With Sharp out on loan to begin with, your options are still very good. Lambert and Jay Rod are 2 very good players, with Lee, Mayuka and Guly available to play up top as well. I'd suggest using Lambert as a target man, with Jay Rod as a poacher if you're playing 2 strikers. Lallana and Ramirez can play upfront if needed in an injury crisis.

Loving my Southampton game. At the moment I am 10th after 30 games and won the league cup

Hooiveld has been terrible for me and Yoshida has really stepped up to partner Fonte (who is a beast from corners)

Lambert is top goalscorer in Prem, actually might have just been overtaken by Adebayor in the last match. Got a few nice regens too Love it

Starting with these finally after having them reccomended to me, so here we go D: Anyone joining me?

I'm playing as them currently, finding it hard but it's my first ever save on this years version

I was going to sign Fletcher on my game 2nd season, but Sunderland wanted £10m for ages after going down.

Ended up signing Mattia Destro and Ricky van Wolfswinkel for £4m combined instead.

I've hardly played the save since the end of the 1st season, I think van Wolfswinkel has a couple of goals as does Destro.

I'll load up and have a look
