I don't see how having training start now is a mistake. Not being ready for training may be a mistake but that's not the games fault.

Are you advocating the position that going from "coming soon" to "it's here, by the way alliance functionality is off" literally overnight is somehow okay? With no warning? Not everyone participated in the last training, or remembers the exact parameters of two-three events ago, or even had an account set up then.

I was negotiating a move to a new alliance, and I was also building up my new cards and, you know, working and being a family member and having a social life. You say I "should have known" to prioritize moving alliances because I "should have expected" alliance functionality to be turned off without warning?

It's like if you were in school and you know there's going to be a midterm exam at some point, but it isn't scheduled on the course syllabus. Then suddenly the professor emails you "Hey the midterm will be tomorrow, by the way I've removed all course materials and lecture notes from the school's website so hope you are randomly ready!"

Yes, I am saying "Coming soon" will always precede "its here". Its is literally the meaning of soon.

Your text argument is way flawed. It isnt like that at all. It more like you have a professor who holds on a regularly predictable pattern, the first of the month for example. Then a week before the first, he tells you, "you have an exam soon." Everyone knows its the 1st, people are talking about it, people are preparing, study groups are formed and most are prepared. Then the first comes around and you show up to class and he tells you to put away your text. That is what this is like. You had warning... you knew it was coming... you made the correct choice to spend that time with your family/work/porn. Do not be that guy who stand up in class and says "this isnt fair".
