This game just got crazy mathematical after one event. Lol. And it isn't even over yet nor has anyone actually gotten a magneto card to test any of these hypothetical numbers.

Think you're overvaluing Magneto's in-game value a bit. If Magneto is the "defense deck's worst nightmare", then Iron Man must be also. Magneto's degrade defense of all type appears to be literally identical in stat change % to Iron Man's boost attack and defense of 1-type. Magneto has slightly stronger max attack (12800 vs 12000) but Iron Man has the more frequent proc rate (Relatively High vs Average) and stacking multiple boosts on top of each other adds more points than stacking multiple degrades (of equal proc value) takes away. Really a matter of opinion which is better, but regardless they're almost dead-even on offense. Add in the fact that Iron Man is one of the top 2 defense cards in the game while Magneto has no defense proc and somewhat low defense stat for a legendary, and I think Iron Man clearly steps ahead as the better card. Collectors will bump up Magneto's value due to his rarity, but I think players will be underwhelmed once they actually start using him in battles which will drive down the value. Aside from the first week or two after awards, don't see Magneto going anywhere near Spider-Man value levels. His greatest value is really for incomplete mid-level decks that need to temporarily use offense cards of multiple types.

Don't mean to pick on you here, but your guide is pretty much the standard for MWOH trading so I think it's worth discussing if the valuations are based on all appropriate considerations.

Unreleased cards are fair game to speculation by all of us. It will be interesting to see where he actually ends up price wise.

It's also crazy to think they might release cards to match magneto. So many characters to add. Hard to think they wont add cards that will outclass the current UR

Remember, when you stack degrades, you are getting diminishing returns, meaning each additional degrade you stack, you are taking less of the opponents attack than the previous degrade. But when you stack boosts, each additional boost gives you an increasing return and an increased boost over the previous boost.

For this reason, I think the demand for Magneto will not be as high. Like you've said before, you probably only want to have 1 Magneto in your deck maybe 2, whereas with the spideys you want to have as many as you can (the same goes for ironman).

So for each person building their ideal UR attack deck, the need for a spiderman or ironman is 3, 4 or 5 times greater than that of a magneto.

Obviously the limited supply will be a huge factor as well, but if supply were equal my personal ranking of the values of UR cards are 1) IM 2) Spidey 3) Magneto

I think Magneto is more of a luxury card, although a devastating luxury. If i was going tactics, I would look to build my deck around Ironman first.

Yeah I agree that only one- two magneto should be in a deck, but only due to its medium usage. However he will be worth more than spidey and ironman. Attack oriented cards are worth more so that is one reason he will be worth more than ironman. His skill is amazing and his rarity will cause him to be valued more than spider. Hulk has a terrible skill but his rarity makes his value worth much more than it should.

If magneto wasn't limited release I would value it very similar to spider. I feel the values should be spider 150, magneto 145, ironman 135-140. As I've stated before I do feel ironman is underrated because of his skill and slight defence orientation, but he's the only legend card available that would make a killer attack and def deck.

Also concerning the diminishing returns, do the math using 2 ironman 3 magneto vs 5 cap/ 5ironman and do the various procs against each other. 3 magnetos procing is very potent. The diminishing returns does not exist as it lowers the base def of the opponent and simultaneously makes the opponents boosts worth less.

After the event I would probably say Ur+ prof will be valued higher than ur Cyclops. Prof offers tactics offense a step up from sr, while Cyclops isn't essential for bruiser attack.

I'd first just like to point out that the "lowering of the base def first" is kind of a misconception. Although, in the game it does show the degrade proc'ing before the defense boosts, it wouldn't matter if it was the other way around because the result would be the same. Since you are multiplying the boosts/degrade, it doesn't matter if the degrade/boost comes first or last. If the degrade came after the boost, the degrade would just take a bigger chunk. Here's the math:

50k(base def) * .84(16%degrade) * 1.16(16%boost) = 48,720
50k * 1.16(16% boost is coming first now) * .84(now the 16% degrade) = 48,720 ( still the same number)

This is what i mean by diminishing returns (i'm going to use nice round numbers for simplicity's sake):

If you have 1 magneto proc'ing on a def deck of 50k, the result would be: 50k * .84 = 42k
a loss of 8k
If you have 2 magneto proc'in on a def deck of 50k, the result would be 42k * .84 = 35,280
an additional loss of 6,720

The second boost is taking away less than the first because there is less to take of.

Now let's do an attack deck of 50k with 2 boosts of 16%
1st proc: 50k * 1.16 = 58k
a gain of 8k
2nd proc: 58k * 1.16 = 67,280
an additional gain of 9,280

The difference in points between the 2nd degrade and the 2nd boost is about 2,500 points

I'm personally not a fan of degrades to specific alignments because you usually don't know what cards the opponent will be using against you. However, tactics defense is the mostly widely used defense for d-leads in wars because most use a combination of UR Cap A, and Leg IM

UR cyclops can be potentially devastating to these decks. I think every alliance should have someone that has one in a good Attack deck to help break down the D-lead, but I think he's more of a luxury and his skill can't be relied on going against random players. I don't think Cyclops would break in to the top 3 URs. Depending on your needs, his value can vary greatly. If you're creating a deck to beat the top tactics def, I would try to get cyclops in there to lead the attack, but if you are just using him in a regular deck against random players, he probably isn't necessary.

Prof X is the Ghost Rider version of tactics cards skill-wise that packs a little less punch. So if you're going tactics attack, he would be a great card to have and would go well with any high attack tactics cards like Mag, IM, and Ironfist. And between prof X and Ironfist, i would go to school and take the prof since he has an alignment boost instead of a selfish skill.
