The Gunstringer may have been Twisted Pixel's baby, but the Austin studio isn't actually working on Windows 8 exclusive The Gunstringer: Dead Man Running. Instead, the PC and tablet incarnation is being handled by Canadian developer Other Ocean Internactive.
The new Gunstringer is a bit of a departure from its Kinect counterpart on Xbox 360. Dead Man Running is actually auto-running game with shooting challenges, both in the Story Mode and the "endless runner" stages. Interestingly enough, it also utilizes a free-to-play model, relying not on game sales but microtransactions. Players will be able to purchase customizations and other content using the in-game currency and in-app purchases.
Gunstringer: Dead Man Running launches this November with Windows 8.
