Yes,but have you noticed that when putting the level select cheat in Sonic 3(It's so painstakingly hard to acheive that!),you can see that Sonic and Knuckles stages are in it.Why?Because Sonic 3 was originally going to have the content of Sonic 3 and Knuckles,but they didn't have enough time,so they hid those Sonic and Knux stages.But the level select cheat was made for playtesting purposes,not for a secret cheat code.The cheat showed you the hidden S&K levels.Then Sonic and Knuckles came out 6 months later,with the rest of the stages in the game.And to combine the stages and finally complete the game,they did that "lock-on technology" thing,so then when you combined Sonic 3 with Sonic and Knux,you got Sonic 3 and Knuckles,what Sonic 3 was originally going to be.

Yeah,maybe like they did with Super Mario Bros:The Lost Levels.I would call it Sonic Classic Collection:Advance,where the lost levels of Sonic 2 are added along with Sonic 1,2,3,Sonic and Knuckles,Sonic CD,Knuckles Choatix,Sonic R and Sonic The Fighters with Metal Sonic,Honey The Cat,and those mysterious gloves(Invisble Man,you could call it,maybe?).I really wish those Sonic 2 areas will be added,maybe in a download on Xbox,PC or PS3,dubbed Sonic The Hedgehog 2:The Lost Levels.

There's a lot of hidden/scrapped data in Sonic games.The Chao World for Dreamcast had some data bits for the deleted Chao Playground.

SEGA has a lot of of ideas and good concepts but they burned from the fire of failure.

...............Sonic is a hit........but will it make it?

Please stop comparing Mario to Sonic. Mario has been around longer. I don't see Sonic getting cancelled like Megaman did, but more of slow down attempt. I also notice this with Mario games. Things haven't been the same for Mario since 2008.
