This could either be great or awful and I don't think there will be a middle ground. We've seen how The Walking Dead works in game form as pretty much an interactive comic but this could get so much wrong. The Walking Dead is not about fighting, it's about doing all you can to not fire a weapon and to not get close to the walkers.. I don't think Activision the father of Call of Duty will understand that and I feel Terminal Reality may have great ambitions for it that will be swamped under Activision's broad appeal filter.

I hope the principle is like Dead Island, but with less of a focus on maintaining weapons. If there has to be weapon maintenance, let it be more gameplay friendly (not having it break after only a handful of zombies killed).

I like the idea of having a melee/avoidance and supply acquisition focused zombie combat game set int this universe. Just so long as one can find and (hopefully build) good equipment.

Of course, if one wants the zombie survival (as opposed to combat) aspect most of all, there is always Dead State. So even if they fudge this up, there is always that game. Assuming Dead State doesn't suck of course XD

oni_hero - Well, they already state that the story is those two characters traveling from one location to an ultimate destination, so I seriously doubt there will be much in the way of fortification. Hopefully there ARE options and a reasonably open world, so far as getting to said destination (as in, not forced down a narrowly defined path).

Andy Jay You are joking right? It's a Walking Dead game, Walking Dead is all about the story of the survivors, past, present, and future. Turning it into a blind zombie shooter would be an injustice to the source material.

Rednecks with weapons? Hardly. There is plenty in backstory to explore there. If you want a mindless zombie shooter pick up a call of duty game. Honestly if it doesn't have back story it will be a huge let down for me. Darryl is easily one of the most complex/deep characters on the show at the moment, and Merle is one of the more interesting Asshole characters. If you take them and just go "Oh two redneck brothers shooting zombies have at it" It wouldn't be as good as if they explored the back story.

Shit with your logic the show should have been broken down from the comic books and just had "Look, Rick, Cop with a gun. Zombies, Kill. Survivors, Zombies, Kill..... Zombies.... Kill..... Zombies.... Kill.... Death of 5 people...." Yeah it's The Walking Dead, not a zombie add on for call of duty, and if it is treated like one it will suffer for it.

Puzzle games don't need depth in story.... Online Multiplayer doesn't need depth in story. Shooters, while a lot of them lack it, would be better with depth of story, and saying games only need characters and a plot, while that may work for some games, I doubt would work for a Walking Dead Game. You are looking at it too much like a zombie shooter and forgetting it's source material. Tossing the storytelling style of The Walking Dead out the window would be the wrong way to go.

Granted Dead Rising 2 over call of duty.

Don't own a ps3 and have never played the Uncharted games, so can't really comment on that, and I'm not going to talk out of my ass about it like I have. I'll use another one of the Walking Dead Games. Sure, they could have just made it a point and click adventure with no character depth in the walking dead universe, but if they had it would have suffered. It is the exact character depth that makes that game that step above, the same depth that ha drawn Walking Dead fans and new comers alike to it to make it the top selling Telltale game in recent years.

And I meant Hardly. Sure you could go 'LOOK AT THEM REDNECKS OFF KILLING THEM THERE ZOMBIES!" but Merle and Darryl have a history that can be explored, and I would hope the game would be more then "point a to point b, kill zombies, random generic redneck rebel yell tough guy comment" leading into "Cutscene of Darryl and Merle narrowly avoiding some zombie eating one of their faces, next level" I'm not expecting Shakespeare but I am hoping for more than Deliverence the video game. Just some added backstory and character and story depth to flesh out the zombie killing so it isn't just point a to point b with a plot to chug it along just enough. Just explore what life was for them before the outbreak, how they were dragged into the fray, did they have anyone close other then just themselves, and how and when did they lose them. Small details even would be good, you don't have to go that deep, but deep enough to at least do the source material justice.
