Okay, so the day of the week has pretty much nothing to do with Riptide, but we like Fridays as much as we like hearing (or seeing) more of the new Dead Island. Most notable in today's batch is the new special infected, a juggernaut of a zombie. The thing looks built for smashing faces in, so we're not sure that standing right in front of its arms is a great idea. Then again, Sam B is the tank of the group, and if anyone can survive what's about to happen there, it'd be Sam B. Fortunately, we finally get to see John Morgan , and these screenshots also give us a look at the HUD. Dead Island: Riptide will be out on April 23. Pre-order bonuses were announced not long ago, though they're also going to be released as separate paid DLC after launch. 	The first line reads "Dead Rising: Riptide" instead of "Dead Island: Riptide". Not trying to get lulz for it, just letting you know. Anyways, the screenshots look great, but even the first Dead Island looks pretty good in screens, and during gameplay the short draw distance and glitchy shadows get pretty annoying. If Techland managed to fix at least a majority of the bugs from the first game, this could easily be my GOTY. I loved Dead Island despite all of its flaws (including the unfinished dev build released on Steam), so I can only imagine I'll lose days to a potentially more polished counter-part. ------------------- I went to the place where every white face is an invitation to robbery. Sitting here in my safe European home, don't wanna go back there again.

	i would like to point out that the guy in the orange is john (image 5) and also they gave us a look at his hud (image 9), i wonder what that new rage is. that hud shot looks like it would be an arena, i really hope they bring that back i had so much fun getting to round 57 last night on the very hard map.

	I also notice from Lydia Sung's last dead island article it says john is from the navy. if you look at the emblem on his hat it's clearly the Marines the navy has two anchors and a shield as opposed to one anchor and a globe.

How curious! Now that's something Techland must've either changed or Deep Silver got mixed up. Wikis all say US Navy, per the original announcement.
