NBA 2K13 sales have marked a new record for the basketball franchise. According to publisher 2K's internal estimates for "comparable platforms", the game sold-through 49% more copies than the previous bestseller NBA 2K11, in part due to 66% increased international sales over 2K11.

Further on that, the online community has twice the amount of users it did last year, leading to a 127% increase of online games over last year.

If you haven't been paying attention, 2K13 has a variety of new features and improvements over previous games, so perhaps that's helped sales quite a bit. Of course, having Jay-Z produce your game doesn't hurt either.
