If you're not watching Watch_Dogs, then maybe you should get on that. After teasing the return of Aiden Pearce last night on Twitter, Ubisoft dropped an all new trailer titled, "Out of Control" and boy howdy -- it looks good. In addition, at the end of the trailer an official release date was confirmed. Watch_Dogs will officially be made available on November 19 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, PC and assuming they're launched by then the PlayStation 4 and the next-gen Xbox.
"Out of Control" sets up Aiden Pearce as almost a digital superhero, a vigilante out to get revenge on a city that has apparently wronged him in a very personal way. We see flashes of a gravestone, which likely means he has family member that came to an unfortunate end. Just exactly who "they" are will have to wait until we get closer to launch.
What I found most alarming, however, is just how much like a Grand Theft Auto throwback this trailer felt like. With that Hotline Miami, Drive throwback music pounding over a montage of third-person action and Aiden Pearce strutting around his city... I think it's obvious what sort of game Ubisoft is selling Watch_Dogs as.
Expect more news on Watch_Dogs leading into E3 this year, and then further as we approach its newly announced November 19 launch date on current and next-gen consoles. I wouldn't be surprised if it popped up in any PlayStation 4 or next-gen Xbox events in the next few months either. Also worth noting, considering next-gen consoles are expected to launch in November, is that Watch_Dogs will likely be a launch title for both consoles.
